is your chicken halal?

Yes, we only used hand-slaughtered halal chicken at Ruby’s.

how hot should I go?

Everyone is different. The fun in eating at Ruby’s is finding what heat level you're comfortable with. It’s a journey, working your way up from the original. Try them all and decide how hot you are.

Is your menu gluten-free?

No, unfortunately, it is not.

Is there a kid’s menu?

Ruby’s fried chicken is for everyone! If the little ones are not yet ready for the heat you can make your tenders, wings or Sando southern fried or original (dipped in seasoned oil without any hot seasoning).

What is a sando?

Some people call it a fried chicken burger, some will call it a sandwich at Ruby’s we call it a Sando.

What makes ruby’s so good?

It’s really simple. We start with only using natural chicken free of hormones, antibiotics and other nasty stuff. Brine each cut of chicken specifically in-house, cooked to order, dip each cut of chicken into our signature seasoned oil and finally season it from one of our 5 levels of heat. This is how fried chicken should be.

is the fried chicken at ruby’s nashville style?

Yes and no. It’s definitely Nashville-inspired (Big shout to the pioneers of Nashville hot chicken the Prince family). No, because from the very mild Ruby’s OG seasoning to the blow-your-head-off hotness of the F.M.U.F the flavours are very unique to Ruby’s. We use a variety of local and imported chilis in each level that not only gets spicier the hotter you go but all have a different flavour profile. It’s Ruby’s hot chicken with always a side of sweet Kaya butter!

what is kaya butter?

Kaya is a very sweet coconut jam made with coconut milk, brown sugar, honey and thickened with egg. It's popular throughout South-East Asia, particularly in Malaysia and Singapore where you have it on toast for breakfast. At Ruby’s, we make our own version called Kaya butter and promise you it’s the best thing to dip your fried chicken into.
